It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 after 92 years of a wonderful life. Born in Kalisz, Poland she was the youngest in the family with four brothers. Following the war in Europe, she met her true love Tadeusz (now 93) and together they immigrated to Canada with hearts full of dreams and aspirations. An outstanding homemaker, her children, George (Danuta), Isabella and Mark (Heather) couldn’t have asked for a more loving and caring mom. The delicious smell of freshly baked goods always filled her home. She was lovingly called “Babi” by her grandchildren, Maia (Michael), Danika, Mikala, Matthew and Jacob, whom she always spoke about with great pride. Her great grandchildren, Patrick and Charlotte brought her great joy. She will be in our hearts forever. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St W, at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 2 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Chapel at 3 p.m.
