In Celebration of

Maria Consuelo DeSantis

October 1, 1940 -  April 26, 2022

Maria Consuelo DeSantis (81) lost her one month battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends.

Maria Consuelo was a devoted wife to her husband Alberto Sr (deceased), a compassionate and caring mother to her children Alessandra (Jim) and Alberto Jr (Yayoi), and loving grandmother to her grandson Yuki.

Maria Consuelo is survived by her sister (Cristina), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all of her family in Venezuela and the United States.

Born and raised in Venezuela, she and the family traveled the world, living in the Amazon and London (both Canada and England) finally settling in Toronto in the early 80s. Along with raising her family, Maria Consuelo worked for the Government of Ontario by helping people struggling with illness access much needed health care benefits.

Maria Consuelo had a generous heart and dedicated her life to helping others in any way that she could.

She will be dearly missed by so many friends but we are so grateful to have had the time together to laugh and to love.

There will be a celebration of life to honour Maria Consuelo DeSantis at Turner Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga, ON L5B 1M8 on Friday May 6, 2022 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Canada or The Aphasia Institute.
