In Celebration of

Margaret Patricia Rider (nee Raymond)

February 29, 1956 -  December 2, 2020

Margaret Patricia Rider (nee Raymond) peacefully passed away at the age of 64 at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 40 years; David Rider, her four children; Andrew (Meghan), Sarah, Gordon (Robyn), and Matthew (Olivia), her grandchildren; Jack, Margot, and Georgia, her parents; Jack and Enid Raymond and her sisters; Marilyn Raymond, and Janet Nixon (Gord).

Pat will be missed but more importantly remembered by her family, her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pat was a devoted mother and delighted in her young grandchildren and always had a smile for them even through her battle with cancer. Her nurturing nature is known by her friends, and even friends of her children, who benefitted from her warmth, kindness, and willingness to lend an ear or piece of advice. Her strength was clear to everyone over the past 9 months.

While Pat was born and lived in Toronto, ON, her fondest memories were family times at the multi-generational family cottage in Muskoka, ON. Whether it was a morning coffee at the beach, a family dinner in the screened-in or a sunset on the back dock, the island provided treasured memories as a young child, teenager, mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Wallace McCain Centre for Pancreatic Cancer at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
