In Celebration of

Margaret Brodie (nee Robertson)

June 2, 1924 -  December 31, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Brodie at the age of 97 on December 31, 2021.

Beloved wife of Keith Brodie (2007) and loving mother of Gerry (Margaret), Elizabeth-Anne, Pam, and Ian (Anne). She will be missed by her grandchildren Andrew, Mathew, Joanna, Daniel, Olivia, and Emily.

Mom had an enquiring mind and was an avid learner. Not having the opportunity to complete high school when she was young, she knew the importance of an education and completed her high school while raising a family of four children. Her educational endeavours continued, taking courses at York University and the Royal Conservatory of Music.

She loved her music whether it be teaching piano, singing in the choir, or listening to the opera greats of Pavarotti and Sutherland. Growing up the daughter of a baker, she continued the baking tradition throughout her life, passing on the knowledge and secrets she learned from her dad. She enjoyed the outdoors on the farm with her pets and attending to her fruit and vegetable gardens.

When Keith retired, mom and dad enjoyed travelling. They took trips to Europe to trace their family lineage and enjoyed the occasional cruise. No matter where they went, there was always something to be learned upon their return.

Margaret will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and be comforted to know that she will be with Keith again.

Service arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army.

Pam, I did not have the opportunity to meet your mother, but over the years of knowing you, I felt I did get to meet her in a small way through you and the stories of you growing in the country.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to you and your family.
