I am very saddened to hear of Margaret’s passing. I worked with her at Ossington Old Orchard Public School for a number of years. Margaret was also the kindergarten teacher of my two children. I would often give her a ride home from school and we became better acquainted as a result. She was a most kind and caring lady. I offer my sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. RIP Margaret. ❤️

My sincerest condolences to the family. Mrs. Jardine was my kindergarten teacher in 1995, 1996. She was an amazing teacher who touched a lot of souls and left fond memories of my childhood. Rest in Peace ❤️

Goals in my Kindergarten

I will always remember Mrs. Jardine because she was really nice and made my first years in school happy. I'll never forget the time when we went to Puck's Farm and we milked the cows. That was really fun.
I liked how we got to play almost all the day and there were many building materials. She also made us learn things. I learned to read and write and add and do lots of other important things.
And when I got into grade one I was writing stories twenty pages long and doing math above my grade level. I was also spelling at grade 3 level.
Well, all in all, I think kindergarten was my happiest time in school.

I remember fondly for many years Jennifer, Louise and I would go to Marg and George's house for dinner on Thursday nights. I was always looking forward to Marg's famous pot roast and my favourite salad made of cauliflower, tomato and onion. I would make sure on Thursdays to leave work early as not to miss out on anything. Marg was a wonderful mother-in-law and always looked after us all with joy and love. Marg was a loving and kind person.

Mom always sent wrapped prizes when my sister Chris, cousins David and Laura, Aunt Jean, Nana, Aunt Funny and I would spend a couple of weeks up north at a rented cottage together. We would eagerly await night time after a day spent on the water, anticipating what the prizes might be. After playing Bingo or Euchre, we would reach our hands into the bag (we were not allowed to look!), and by feel we would know if it was the most sought after chocolate bar or comic book. Mom made sure everyone had fun. Those prizes were legendary!

Did you know Mom was mischievous? She had a teaspoon with a fake fly glued to it that she would like to bring out occasionally to unexpected guests. The picture to the left shows her bringing out a dessert to be served with that dreaded spoon. You can see the glint in her eye! She loved April Fool's Day and always had the best one liners.
