In Celebration of

Mae Olsen

November 12, 1929 -  November 30, 2022

Mae Ellen Olsen (nee Campbell) died exactly how she wanted to, on November 30, 2022 at Humber Hospital in her 94th year. Born and raised in Mount Dennis and predeceased by her parents, Eleanor Hopper and William Campbell, her siblings, Bill, June, and Richard, son in law Aldo and her daughter Colleen. Loving wife and then widow of Gord Olsen (also of Weston) and Jack Mackin (of Boston). Loving mother of Catherine Cicero, adored grandmother of Marisa (Andrew), Marcus and Anthony and doting great grandmother of Isabella and Grace.

She will be forever missed by her family and friends in Toronto, her table at Parkland and by her special friends at her second home in Pompano Beach where she left an indelible mark. Mae told us this week that she had no regrets and indeed that was how she lived her life.

Join us December 5th, 2022 from 3:00-4:45 for a visitation and at 5:00pm for a gathering to celebrate her life and legacy at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, a donation may be made to the Star’s Santa Claus Fund (a box she received as a child) or a children’s charity of your choice to help make a holiday brighter, something Mae did every year.

Mae was always so lovely to talk to when I would visit my grandparents in Pompano Beach. Her and my Grandmother Pinky were very close and share many memories. Mae had class, wit and humor and was always so welcoming. When I was a little girl I thought it was so neat that she called everyone "love". I always enjoyed Mae's company and am so sorry to hear about her passing but I know she lived a full life. She will be missed. Xoxo
