M. Isobel McCarron (O’Gorman) born August 19, 1927, and deceased December 15, 2020. Isobel was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond (deceased 2017) of 69 years. Isobel was born and raised in Toronto and was a graduate of Loretto Abby, Toronto. She returned to teacher’s college at Trent University in the 1970s and did her Communications degree at the University of Toronto at Mississauga. She became a dedicated teacher in the Dufferin-Peel Separate School Board.
She is survived by her children Patrick McCarron (Betty), Peggy Lawson (Keith), Barbara Anderson (Scott), Anne Eaton (Ron), and Kenneth McCarron (Shannon) and 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild, born in 2019. These descendants are spread far and wide from Ontario, Alberta, Arizona, Virginia, and Illinois! Isobel knew and loved all of them. In addition, she is survived by her beloved sister Jean Kallmeyer, Toronto, and her brother David O’Gorman, Oakville.
Isobel and Ray happily spent 20 years of their retirement in Naples, Florida while living on Canal Lake, City of Kawartha Lakes. They enjoyed boating, traveling, and entertaining. They squeezed as many of their children and grandchildren into their lake home as possible and always welcomed everyone. They moved to Amica Erin Mills in 2012 where together they enjoyed several years of carefree living.
We would like to thank the staff of Amica Erin Mills in particular the nurses and personal support workers who so kindly cared for both Isobel and Ray through their health challenges in later years. We are sincerely grateful to the nurses who cared for Isobel in her last few weeks with such compassion.
Donations could be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or your local Food Bank.
A memorial service will be held when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
