In Celebration of

Lynn Still

December 29, 1953 -  January 9, 2020

Still, Lynn Phillipa
(Nee Ford)
We are sad to announce that Lynn passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 9, 2020 surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Phillip and Ethel Ford. Lynn leaves behind her husband of 36 years Gary and sons Michael and Christopher. In addition to her brother, Michael, there are nieces and nephews in Canada, UK and Denmark.
Lynn was born on December 29, 1953 in Hendon, London, England. After growing up in Hockley, she came to Canada where she met her future husband Gary at Atlas Alloys. She never stopped moving forward and improving herself. Lynn spent many years in the office furniture industry first at Kinetics and then Envirotech. When some are planning retirement, Lynn began a career in real estate. The last 7 years were the most satisfying to her professionally. She closed her last deal in July, 2019. While she enjoyed her career success, it was third in priority behind family and volunteer work. Lynn was the driving force in our family, she was a role model for her sons. Nothing made her prouder than getting positive comments about her boys. Lynn also enjoyed hiking and camping.
Lynn’s community work included reading to children at school, food drives for the Compass, Leader 1st Clarkson Scouts, Registrar Clarkson Hockey Association, President Lorne Park SS Parent Council, President Whiteoaks Lorne Park Community Association, President Clarkson BIA and numerous times Manager of Hockey and Soccer teams.
The family would like to thank Eiriena and Drs. Perry and Sahgal of the Odette Cancer Centre, and Dr. “T” from Credit Valley Hospital. We are indebted to the PSWs whose care made it possible for Lynn to remain at home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House or the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ‘Neweduk-Erin Mills’ Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (east of Erin Mills Pkwy), on Wednesday January 15 from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Clarkson Community Church, 1880 Lakeshore Rd., Mississauga on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club.

Our hearts go out to Gary, Michael and Christopher. Lynn was a caring person who loved her family and contributed to the community. We moved to the Clarkson Lorne Park Community 23 years ago. I met Gary at work and it was not long after we got to meet Lynn at social gatherings for work, at their home and often bumped into them when out to walks in the community. Lynn was our Real Estate Agent when we sold our home and retired to London, Ont. She was so supportive and encouraging as we went through the process of selling a home we had lived in for 20 years.

My heart goes out to Gary, Michael and Christopher and I send you my very best wishes and strength to cope with the tragic loss of your beloved wife and mother. I shall miss our growing friendship but am blessed to have known her. My thoughts are with the family at this very sad time, and I hope some of your pain will ease in time knowing how much your wife and mother would have enriched the lives of all she came across; she was a very special lady.
