Lucille Pensa
January 31, 1943 -
October 2, 2019
Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday October 2,2019 surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Enzo. Mother to Michelle Branco (Dan) and Cristine Snook (Andrew). Loving Grand-maman (“Momo”) to Isabelle, Thomas, Emily, Sofia and Sebastian. Baby sister to Jacqueline, Claudette (Carlo) and Yvette and sister-in-law to Carmella (Antonio), Gilberto (Angela) and Amalia (Adriano). Ma-Tante Lucille will be missed by her nieces, nephews and their children. She joins her parents, Sebastien and Lucienne (nee Demers), and brothers, Lucien and Claude, and sisters-in-law, Ginevra and Louise, in heaven.
Born in Alexandria, Ontario on January 31, 1943, she was the youngest of six children. Lucille graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto in 1965 and built a successful business in interior design, creating beautiful homes for families over four decades. Sundays found her at the kitchen counter in her apron, elbow deep in the pizza dough that would make Mrs. Pensa’s pizza renowned at bake sales, class parties and family events. A talented cook, her holiday tables were always surrounded by loved ones and heavy with platters of food prepared with love and lots of butter. She took great joy in all children and enormous pride in her own girls. The visits of her five grandchildren were an enduring happiness to the very end of her difficult illness.
