In Celebration of
Lucas "Lukie" Reade Raso
February 24, 2000 -
August 14, 2021
With broken hearts, we announce the tragic and accidental passing of our beloved Lukie on August 14, at the age of 21. Dear son of Kristie and Tom Raso. Loved brother of Nicky (Lauren), Zoe, and Jordan. Cherished grandson of Clive and Jo-an Reade (Ana and Ampa) and the late Caterina and Giuseppe Raso. His loss is deeply felt in the hearts of his many uncles, aunts, and cousins - Steph (Scott), Kate and Jack; Greg (Krista) Graydon, Abby, Violet; Natalie (James), Anthony, JJ, Christina; George (Lina), Joe, Robert; Rosetta, Joseph, Mark; Angela, Robert, Daniel; Chuck (Stephanie), Andrew, and Vanessa. As well as Tom's fiancé Danay.
Lukie always made everyone feel like they were his best friend, as he constantly went out of his way to bring out the best in everyone. Always drawing people into his life he was at ease in any social situation, and would talk to anyone with real, genuine, interest. With his big smile, and caring heart, he made everyone’s life more joyful.
Lukie said as a toddler, “I just want to learn everything!”, and his thirst for knowledge led him to study at Carleton University where he chose to study cognitive science with a specialization in cognition and computation. He was entering his third year.
Lukie was an athlete, and a sports fan. He spent years playing hockey, and dominated the backyard and the school yard basketball courts. Lukie loved the Raptors, and revelled in their championship celebrations. As a boy he was on College Street with his family when Italy won the World Cup, and returned there this summer as the life of the party to celebrate their Euro championship. His hobbies included chess, and he watched Youtube constantly to improve his strategy and beat all challengers.
Lukie was the shining light in any room he entered, and the life of every party. He was taken far too soon, but he will live in the hearts of his friends and family forever. He lived his 21 years to the fullest, in the most loving, positive, engaging, and inspirational way. Rest in Peace Lukie - we love you.
