With great sadness, we share the passing of Lubomyr Fedyna at the age of 73. Lubomyr was born in Edmonton, Alberta, the second of 3 sons to Dr. Andrij and Aleksandra Fedyna. The family spent several years in Prince Rupert in British Columbia where Dr. Fedyna practiced medicine. When the family moved to Toronto, Lubomyr attended Ukrainian School, Plast - Ukrainian Scouting Organization, and took part in many activities in the Ukrainian community. After completing his studies in electronic engineering, Lubomyr was able to apply his knowledge and further develop his skills working at Bell Northern Research, General Motors, and the Canadian Armed Forces in which he also served. Later he went on to start his own company Tracker Industries. Lubomyr also undertook flight training, obtained a private pilot’s license, and completed his first solo flight in February 1980. New projects and opportunities enticed his many interests. Business ventures led him to numerous trips to Ukraine, the Middle East, and other countries. Despite the time spent away, his thoughts were always with his family and their well-being. Lubomyr is survived by his daughter Melania and son Rostyslav, Bozhena, brother Roman (Linda), nieces Olena and Ulyana, nephew Adrian and cousins in Canada, U.S., and Ukraine. Lubomyr is pre-deceased by his younger brother Jurij and sister-in-law Oksana, and his parents Aleksandra and Andrij.
