In Celebration of

Louisa Mary Murray

December 18, 1943 -  August 11, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother/grandmother/sister/aunt, Louisa Mary Murray (nee Misset), on August 11th, 2024 in her 80th year. Loving mother of Catherine (Jason), Monica (John), and Adrienne. Proud grandma to Erin Williams, and Elliot and Adam Rogers. Dear sister to the late Monica Hill (nee Misset) and Mary Misset. Louisa dearly loved and held a special place in her heart for her nephews John (Sarah), late Stephen (Anne), and niece Alison (Rob).

After emigrating from Scotland in 1967, Louisa had a fulfilling career as an elementary teacher with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic Board. During this time she made life-long friends and left a lasting impression on her many students.

Louisa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her loving family and dear friends.

Ms Murray was a strong woman. She raised three independent, strong willed daughters on her own.
I always enjoyed spending time at her home whether it was watching the eclipse or the latest Kids in the Hall episode. She always found something to chat with Cathy’s friends about.
I favourably recall learning to drive on her Chevy Acadian.
I recall her saying, ‘God Bless’ and really meaning it.
Sorry I can’t make the funeral as in the US.
We’ll continue to look over Cathy as a ‘ Beautiful Bestie’.
Luv Darlene

Louisa (“Cathy’s mom” to me) was so sweet and lovely to me and the rest of us teenagers who phoned and dropped in on Ash Row at all hours during high school in the 80s. She always sent us off with a patient smile and a “God bless!” Cathy, Monica and Adrienne have all her best qualities, and she had so many. Sending love, hugs and wishes for strength. X0
