In Celebration of

Lois Elaine Town

January 26, 1931 -  March 3, 2024

Peacefully, at Wellbrook Place, on March 3, 2024 at the age of 93. Cherished mother of Steven Andrew Town (Lesley Ann) and Catherine Goodman (Peter James). Proud grandmother of Christopher Gordon, Andrew Matthew, Jason Douglas, and Kyle James. Sister of the late Dorothy Perry of Toronto. A graduate of the University of Toronto Dental Assistant Program, Lois wore many hats throughout her life, but she valued most her role as mother and homemaker. She enjoyed quality time with friends and family, playing piano, bridge, following figure skating and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will remember her kindness, family support and the echo of her love will resonate in their hearts as they remember her forever.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., (Hwy. 10, N of the QEW) on Saturday, March 9th from 10-11 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM in the Chapel. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Steven and Cathy, I am so sorry to hear that your mom has passed away. Your family's visits to my parents' house for holiday suppers in my teen years are still almost like yesterday. I remember your mom as a very warm and motherly person. She absolutely adored you. I didn't know her in her grandmothering years because geography separated us, but I'm sure that she loved being a grandmother just as much as she loved being a mom. My deepest condolences.

Dear Cathy & Steven,

I was very sorry to learn from my mom today that your mom has died. We spent a long telephone call remembering your mom, our years in North Vancouver, and marveling over the many layers of connection between our families and various people in Sarnia. I will always think of your mom as a kind, genuine, and generous person, who was sincerely interested in hearing the stories of whomever she was speaking with. I am sending my very warmest thoughts to you as you hold your mom's memory close.

Dear Steven and Catherine, I am thinking of you as you remember your wonderful Mom. How she loved you all.

Serendipity, a Sarnia mutual connection, and a work transfer bought our families together in North Vancouver!!
You and Bridget were students at Handsworth. Your Mom and I became treasured friends. We followed one another back East, and our wonderful friendship continued!!

Farewell Dear Lois - my/our kind, caring, warm, fun and loving friend. We had some great laughs, and we loved to talk about our families. How happy I am that our families became friends. I will so miss you.
