In Celebration of

Lizon Albino Fernandes

August 29, 1950 -  July 20, 2022

Lizon Albino Fernandes was born in 1950 in Bombay, India. Beloved husband of Marina, loving father of Keith (Christine), and Kirk (Daani), and proud & doting Grandpa of Sophie. The son of the late Maria and Benjamin Fernandes, brother of Rosie, Bebiana, Bridget and Johnny.

In Bombay he worked for the Bombay Gas Co. and in 1977 he moved to Dubai working primarily for the Dubai Petroleum Company. In 1993 Albino chose Canada as the new home for his family. Albino will be remembered for his great sense of humor; he loved sharing jokes. He was often the life of the party and enjoyed hosting friends and family. Some of his great passions were reading, music, and movies. He and the family traveled extensively. He was a man of fierce determination and selfless generosity.

On July 20, 2022 Albino peacefully passed away after a long and difficult battle with multiple health issues. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a memorial contribution to Trillium Health Partners http://supporting.trilliumgiving.ca/goto/albinofernandes.

β€œIn one sense there is no death, the life of a soul on earth lasts beyond his departure. You will always feel that life touching yours, that voice speaking to you, that spirit looking out of other eyes, talking to you in the familiar things he touched, worked with, loved as familiar friends. He lives on in your life and in the lives of all others that knew him.”

– J.B. Fernandes, S.J.

Guests are encouraged to wear masks at the visitation & service.

The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed at https://cdn.boltwave.com/st_fx_mississauga_on_ca__iframe_enlarged.html

Albino, your smile, your wit, your ready repartee will be sorely missed. Your sense of humour, your warm hearted generosity will always be remembered.
God rest, my friend. You fought the good fight. You have earned your crown. The Lord will receive you with the same warmth and generosity with which you welcomed us into your home.
Audrey and I pray that Marina and the boys and their families will be comforted in the knowledge that you are safely home.
