In Celebration of

Linda Gough

March 10, 1945 -  June 13, 2022

Passed away on Monday, June 13th in her 77th year after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents Edna and Christen Christensen. Loving mother to Jason Gough (wife Jeanie and Ace) and loving wife and best friend to husband Carl Wesley Jean for 38 years. Greatly loved and missed by Sister/Cousin Barbara Anne Bohlin (Gunars), many cousins in Norway, friends in Canada including extended family in the Stratford area, and in the U.S.A. Linda loved Kenya and the lifelong friends she made there and as a result was fluent in Swahili.

She earned her degree in Social Work at Wilfred Laurier University in Kitchener/Waterloo. Linda enjoyed her career at Wellesley Hospital and Reconnect Community Health Services.

Linda loved social and ballroom dancing and nurturing her orchids, her green thumb inherited from her father. She travelled extensively around the world with Wes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West at Windermere, on Tuesday, June 28th, with Visitation from 2 to 3 PM and the service at 3 PM in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital or the charity of your choice.

My condolences to Wes and the family. May she Rest In Peace. I know she will be missed. Wes talked about their travels together and how much she loved travelling.

Linda was a wonderful woman possessing tremendous intelligence , strength of character, integrity and love for her family and friends. Linda was a ground breaker at Reconnect in the field of technology and electronic records well before the practice was common in the field of community health. Linda possessed the unique ability to fully embrace her passions while keeping herself grounded in a rational approach to life. Linda always listened and provided valuable advise when asked. Linda’s devotion to her beloved Wes and Jason were enviable and an example to all of a love well lived. I am saddened by her loss and will miss her.

Linda was such as special woman. She hired me at Reconnect in 1995 and was my mentor and supervisor for many years. She always supported and challenged me to be my best. She was always someone I could go to for advice through out my career at Reconnect. In later years we bonded over shared interests in plants and data and eventually she trained me to take over her responsibilities in data management as she retired. I so enjoyed my lunches with her after she retired, admiring her orchids and Wes’s paintings. Linda was kind and empathic, an incredible teacher and mentor, a great listener, intelligent and innovative, and someone who I truly enjoyed spending time with. She will be missed but I think of her often as I water my orchids. My condolences to Wes, Jason and Linda’s other loved ones.
