Lilian passed away peacefully in Toronto on Friday, February 19, 2021 in her 89th year, cherished wife of the late George Tafler. Lilian will be lovingly remembered by her two children Andy (Jenni) and Cathy (Doug); by her grandchildren Emily (Brian), Gillian (Steve), Katy (Stephen), Tom (Allison) and Sally; and her great grandchildren Norah, Clara, Andy, Charlie and Anna.

Lilian was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and grew up in Budapest, Hungary. In 1952 she came to Canada where she met her life partner George and they started a family together in Toronto. George and Lilian’s interests included extensive travel in Europe and North America, art, history, music and literature, but were always focused on their true passion - their growing family. Summer vacations for all the family together near Algonquin Park were an annual highlight.

Lilian enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross’ Family Reunification program.

The family would like to thank all of the staff in 6 South at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare for their wonderful and warm care of our Mother during her last years. And special thanks and love to Khadija.
