Leslie da Silva

January 10, 1945 -  February 5, 2024

With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of James Leslie da Silva, a resilient soul born in British Guiana who journeyed to Canada in 1973. Leslie departed this world on Monday February 5th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to family. An esteemed electrical professional, Leslie was not only a master of his craft but also a man of exceptional integrity and poise. His strong Christian faith guided his actions, providing a moral compass that shaped his life and the lives of those around him. Beyond his professional pursuits, Leslie was known for his infectious humour, kindness, and an innate ability to infuse joy into the lives of others.

His love for family was evident in the care and devotion he bestowed to his beloved wife of 46 years Marcia and daughter Melissa, creating a home filled with warmth and love. Leslie had a passion for cars and Formula 1 racing, finding excitement in the speed and precision of the sport. His love for music, history, and politics reflected a diverse range of interests, making him a captivating conversationalist and a well-rounded individual. An avid reader with a wealth of knowledge, Leslie could engage in discussions on a myriad of topics, showcasing his intellectual curiosity. His exceptional storytelling had the magical ability to transport you back in time, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to experience it.

Survived by his daughter Melissa da Silva (Edward), sister Barbara Ann Thomas (Jim), nephew and niece James (Silver) and Sara (Chris), great nephew and nieces Freddie, Isabella, Ruby, Stella, Imogen, da Silva and Irwin cousins, Pollard brothers and sisters in-law and others. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Olga da Silva, wife Marcia da Silva and canine granddaughter Portia Bear.

As we say our farewells, let us remember Leslie for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the joy he brought into our lives. May his spirit live on in the cherished memories we hold, and may he rest in eternal peace with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Leslie's charm, passion and generosity will be missed.

The family extends sincere gratitude and admiration to the dedicated medical teams and support personnel who provided compassionate care for Leslie throughout the years. Your unwavering commitment has been deeply appreciated.

In celebration of Leslie's life lived, a private funeral service will be held.

Leslie was a true friend always willing to help others that are in need.
He has an abundance of Empathy-Caring-and Loving for his family.
I knew Leslie as a student at St.Stanisclause College and through his mother (Olga) where we both worked at the Singer Sewing Machine Co in Georgetown. British Guiana at the time.
As we both immigrated to Canada during separate times we continued our friendship and our memories will live forever may you Rest in peace my friend 🙏
