In Celebration of

Laurie Adam (Nee Payne)

October 14, 1952 -  September 29, 2020

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Laurie Adam on September 29th, 2020. Born October 14th, 1952 in Peterborough, Ontario to Ronnie and Olive Payne. Laurie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Norm, her daughter Lyndsey and a host of family and friends with whom she loved to share a glass of wine and a laugh.

Laurie loved the written word and when she wasn’t at work editing, she could often be found with a book in hand or doing a crossword with Norm and complaining that the cat was sleeping on her TV guide. She loved watching cheesy movies, the Blue Jays, the Raptors and curling. But her favourite thing to watch was Lyndsey on the curling ice or slo-pitch diamond. Her support will be sorely missed at both.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral will take place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to For the Love of Curling.

Words cannot express the pain and sorrow of losing Laurie so soon. Laurie and I have been friends and workmates for decades. I have many good memories to keep me going and will always have her in a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with Norm and Lyndsey at this difficult time.

With much love, Marylou

Though Laurie and I rarely met in person, we had hundreds (if not thousands!) of phone calls and emails about getting our print material out the door each year and of course 100% accurate! I will miss her and her unwavering commitment to our organization. You have my sympathies and thoughts. Danny
