In Celebration of

Laura Colley

February 3, 1926 -  August 24, 2022

Laura Colley passed away peacefully at Eagle Terrace Long Term Care in Newmarket on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth. Loving mother of Stan and Greg, mother-in-law to Susan and Donna, sister to Wanda Tobias and Grandmother to Adam, Michael (Tianna) and Matthew (Emma). She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Laura emigrated from Poland in 1930 with her mother Agnes Adamczyk and her sisters Sophie Czuba and Helen Wahl. The family reunited with their husband / father, Walter Adamczyk and settled in Toronto.

Laura loved to dance and sing. She passed a lot of time by walking from her home in Etobicoke to downtown Toronto and back. She tried golfing and horse back riding later in life. She loved to attend parades, cultural events and live theatre. She was a strong supporter of activities supporting persons with special needs. Laura always gave everyone the best advise by saying β€œdo what you like.”

We will miss her dearly but we were fortunate to have her with us for ninety-six wonderful years. Love you Babcia!

Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, Toronto, on Friday September 2, 2022 from 11 am - 1 pm. A private family interment will take place at Sanctuary Park Cemetery immediately after the visitation.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Stan, Donna, Michael, Matthew, Susan and Adam:
So sad to hear of the loss of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, Laura. She was an absolutely lovely lady. She had spunk and a bit of a cheeky sense of humour. Conversations always ended with a belly laugh. In the words of Helen Keller "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." The memories of Laura will live in your hearts and ours always. Love you all.

Aunt Laura will be greatly missed and I personally have a lot of memories of her influencing m early on in my life, visiting the family home on Rathburn and the family events that she took part in at my childhood home. She lived a glorious life and shared her abundance of love and wisdom to all of us.

Although I only met your mom a handful of times, she struck me as a kind, caring and lovely woman. I have no doubt that Stan, Donna, Michael and Mathew brought a lot of joy to her life. Tha's a wonderful photo of her.
