In Celebration of

Larry Gordon

September 4, 1946 -  September 2, 2021

Peacefully, on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Ian Anderson House in Oakville, at the age of 74, with his loving wife Lydia Gordon by his side.

Loving father of David Williams. Dear brother of Lloyd Gordon, the late Janet Ellis (Ron) and the late Linda Ann Hall (Kenneth), David Gordon (Lisa), Paul Gordon and Rob Gordon. Beloved son of the late Cecil and Lillian Gordon. Larry was much loved and will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Larry was much respected and an inspiration to all who knew him, a genuinely good person with a great sense of humour.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, following Larry’s cremation, there will be a private service on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
A special thanks to the nurses, PSWs, counsellors and volunteers at the Ian Anderson House for their excellent care and compassion with Larry. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Larry to the Ian Anderson House.

Uncle Larry was a best friend, uncle and a dad all in one. I’ve known Uncle Larry for the last 20 years as I have been with Tina his Neece for that long. Uncle Larry and I spent much time chatting about life, business and of course our mutual love of Scotch Single Malts which he introduced me to. Every Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, New Years Eve, Birthdays and Father’s Day we spent together having awesome dinners and BBQ’s. Larry alwYs had great advise to give, life smarts and just plain great conversations which I will greatly miss. We often laughed so hard I would cry and have belly aches at some of the most silly things. We really enjoyed our weekend walls with Dash and SOPHIE at Jack Darling wether it be winter, spring, summer or fall. We travelled together to England, Ireland and Scotland and have precious memories of all the distilleries and fun time shared. Larry had a great smile and sense of humour which I absolutely loved as he was one of the only people who would understand my unusual sense of humour. I am really going to miss Uncle Larry but will always hold close to my heart all the great times we shared. Aunt Lydia, I am so very sorry for your great loss and know that Tina and I will always be here for you when you need us... Steve Youdowitch

My deepest condolences on the passing of Larry. He was such a kind and gentle man whom I always had great chats and laughs with every time I called on his store. Larry was greatly respected within the flooring industry and will be missed by many. Rest In Peace my friend.

It was an honour to be so happily married to Larry for 37 years. He was a wonderful husband who made me laugh & made any troubles melt away. Our happy travels together will always be cherished memories. He was such a kind and respected good man, by family,, friends and by me (and his devoted dog Sophie). Will never stop missing him.

Unto them from whose eyes the veil of life hath fallen may there be granted the accomplishment of their true Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills; yea, the accomplishment of their wills.
