It was a pleasure to have known him. He was an athlete, then a caring husband, then a brave refugee, then a determined worker, then a loving father, then an equally loving grandfather. If at his age I can look back and lament on having achieved half of what he had, then I will pass a happy man. He has not passed away as long as those who remember him live to reminisce about him.

Dear Godfather!

Our time together on this earth was short but bountiful. You showed me to be true to my heritage and my religion and showed me that even though you might not see the light at the end of the tunnel, it is still there and you must continue to brave the darkness. After your struggles, you had built a beautiful life and family and will always remember you for your humour, strength and perseverance. I am proud to have called you Godfather and I will always look back on our memories with a smile, and one day we will sit and talk once more in the kingdom of Heaven. Until then, I wish you a peaceful rest.
