In Celebration of

Kenneth Johnston

June 25, 1932 -  October 11, 2020

On Sunday, October 11, 2020, passed peacefully in his 88th year with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Reta Woodard (nee Golias). He will be dearly missed by Amanda (Gabe) and adored as “Grandpa Ken” by Brigham and Hunter. Predeceased by his first wife Janice (nee Pope), loving parents Herb and Irene Johnston, and siblings Dawn, Faye, Beth and Glenn (aka Butchie). Survived by his youngest sister, Wanda. Uncle Ken will be fondly missed by nieces and nephews Tim, Tom, Karen, Kevin, David and Jenn, along with many great nieces and nephews.

Ken had a lengthy and successful career in real estate as a Broker/Owner at Remax Renown. He enjoyed many athletic pursuits including golf, cross country running, handball, and squash. Ken was a longtime member of the Skyline Club. He was an avid golfer, and was very proud of his Hole in One at the Brampton Golf and Country Club where he was a member for many years. Ken was a devoted lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, a jazz aficionado, and a lover of animals, travel and adventure.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a private visitation for family on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Turner & Porter "Peel Chapel", Mississauga. A private interment at Grand Valley Union Cemetery will follow in the days to come.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington or Alzheimer Societies of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.

I met Ken many times throughout my visits to Toronto, with my brother Alfred and Rich Tejada...my most memorable one was one year that my brother had a milestone birthday (not sure which one),but it involved the runners and going through a cemetery I was to stage a encounter to meet up with brother Alfred... out of maybe twenty people, Rich Tejada and I flew in from PEI...to stage this meeting... well we finally met and it was a grand encounter.... brother Alfred was totally flabbergasted...and Ken came to me afterwards and said...two words...” Cameo performance....”.he was a gem to me as a friend when I saw him, always smiling and sometimes offering some diminutive advice... he will be missed... by many...rest in peace Ken...
