In Celebration of

Keith Hollowell

January 8, 1933 -  January 20, 2025

The family of William Keith Hollowell of Etobicoke announces with sadness his passing at his home on Monday, January 20, 2025, from abdominal cancer, after recently celebrating his 92nd birthday. Son of William and Eunice (née Luckey), brother to Joyce Williams (Bob) deceased, and Gordon (Donna Twible). Beloved husband of Joan (née Arnott) for more than 68 years. His kind, generous, helpful nature has been very evident in his children, Patti Litherland (Peter, deceased), Bruce Hollowell, and Pamela Manson (Peter). The same traits are seen in his grandchildren - in Thomas (Amy), Alice, Daniel (Caroline); in Owen, Liam (Miranda); in Emily (Todd), Ross (Sam); and in great-grandchildren William and Emma. All of them were a great pleasure to him.

After schooling at Keele St. P.S. and Humberside C.I., most of Keith’s career was spent with Peckover’s Inc, as a salesman in brass and copper and as a designer of industrial plastic parts. Keith was an avid handyman who took pride in maintaining his home, and building and fixing almost anything. He took equal pride in caring for his family and his lifelong friends.

Many of his happiest moments were spent visiting friends’ cottages, camping, revisiting favourite places in Ontario, sharing family dinners, and looking at cars.

The family will receive visitors at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel on Monday, January 27th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Islington United Church, Etobicoke, on Tuesday, January 28th at 1:00 p.m. with visitation and refreshments to follow.

The family appreciated all the nursing and PSW help, and would especially like to thank the team at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their advice and assistance. They were unbelievably helpful in allowing Keith to remain at home.

Keith was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by extended family and many longtime friends, and will live in our hearts always.

In lieu of flowers, remember Keith by giving a flower to a friend.

Dear Joan and family:

I am so sorry to hear of Keith's passing. He was a fine man and so well-regarded in the Bloordale United Church community and the Markland Wood Neighbourhood. Joan, you and Keith were the most steadfast friends to Mona Murray and she loved you both.
Blessings on you at this difficult time.
