In Celebration of

Kazimiera Czerniatowicz

March 2, 1923 -  September 25, 2021

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kazimiera Czerninatowicz. Kazimiera passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 25th, 2021, in her 98th year. Predeceased by husband Michael Czerniatowicz and loving parents Pauline Standar and Woyciech Muszalski. Cherished mother to Lillian Bomanski. A beloved grandmother to Diane and her husband Rob Peterson, Adam Bomanski and his partner Shannon Buck and the late Suzanne Carroll. A great-grandmother to Emily, Jason, Alexandria, Olivia, Sienna, Aria, Hannah, and Benjamin. A special thank you to Cecelia Hall and Rosemarie Ashley for the loving care you provided day-in and day-out, you will always be considered family. We would also like to thank Dr. Niedra, the team, as well as the PSW's from VHA for prioritizing the health and safety of our Babcia at all times.

Kazimiera was a very loving and caring person who took great joy in her family and cherished every moment of time spent with them. She always had a love for nature, particularly flowers, where her backyard hosted a beautifully kept garden filled with lilacs, easter lilies, and gerbera daisies. Her vegetable garden always had fresh produce for cooking. She would spend hours crafting authentic Polish meals for the family with recipes that were passed down throughout generations. Her simple pleasures were strawberry and blueberry picking, foraging mushrooms, baking fresh crumb cake, and playing crosswords and card games.

Every summer the family would come together to go to the cottage that was built by both Kazimiera and Michael. The mornings consisted of breakfasts of a simple piece of toast, butter, and a variety of home-made jam. The days were filled with going to the beach, swinging on the tree-swing, making fresh kielbasa with Babcia, and cutting logs for the fire with Dziadzia. These cottage days became pivotal childhood memories to every member of the family.

Our Babcia was the sunshine on any cloudy day with the purest of hearts and intentions and at almost 99 years old could beat you in Kings and Four Corners. Her stories, laughter, kindness and presence will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and caretakers. All who knew her will feel the loss.
