In Celebration of

Kay Luchak

January 22, 1931 -  June 20, 2019

Loving mother of Allyson (Kirk) and Matthew (Lena). Cherished mother-in-law of Lena. Beloved Nana of Milla, Alexandre, Luke and Estella. Pre-deceased by her brother Maurice Graham, sister-in-law Lois, and sister Maureen MacDougall (Ron). Kay was a very proud and loving aunt to her wonderful nieces and nephew; Shawn, Bart, Terry, Kelly, Heather, Craig, Scott, and their families.

Kay will be remembered for her indefatigable good humour matched with a compassion and charity that touched everyone around her. Committed volunteer for the Big Sister’s of Canada, Hamilton Out of the Cold, and countless events and get-togethers that needed a helping hand. Kay was always happiest when giving her time to others, especially if she was in charge of the invitations and table decorations. An avid skier and skater Kay loved her chalet in Vermont, especially the view from the front balcony. May her spirit find a special place to rest along those green mountain tops.

“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”
-Kahlil Gibran

The family is grateful to the staff at The Chartwell Grenadier Retirement Residence in Toronto for their dedication and care.

Celebration of Life service on Thursday the 27th of June at Morningside-High Park Presbyterian Church, 4 Morningside Ave., Toronto at 6pm followed by a 7pm dinner within walking distance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hamilton Out of the Cold,

“I’ll remember Kay in cherished ways- her kindness to me and everyone, always great with stories, how she always asked about how we were all doing, and how Sarah and Maxine were enjoying life. Kay was more than my Aunt, she was my friend. Love Graham

I will remember Kay for her fantastic humor, her loyalty to her friends and her supreme hostess skills. I will never forget the parties we attended at her homes in Hamilton and Burlington. My family spent numerous summer and winter vacations at her chalet in Alpine Haven, Montgomery Center, Vermont. Kay was a big part of my childhood. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.

She was beautiful.... and sweet I recall... a gentle person...
I wish the world could still be, as the world had been for her...
She lived in the best of the worlds .... a world of ladies, in the best sense of the word...
a world I miss...
Very sad...
