Katica Cvitak

November 28, 1942 -  December 6, 2024

Katica Cvitak, 82, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed on Friday, December 6, 2024, at North York General Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1942, to Ivan and Jana Cvitak in Karlovac, Croatia. She married Stjepan Cvitak on November 21, 1964, and they had two cherished children, Ljiljana and Vjekoslav. Katica immigrated to Canada in 1970 with her husband and Ljiljana, after which Vjekoslav was born. Everything her gentle hand touched – children, pets, garden or meals - were blessed with her care and kindness. Most of all, she will be remembered for her immense capacity for unconditional love and empathy for others. Katica is survived by her husband Stjepan Cvitak, her children Ljiljana and Vjekoslav (Liana), her grandchildren, Nikolas and Lukas Bekic, and Brianna and Andrew Cvitak, and her cat Mia. She will be deeply missed by her two sisters, Ljubica Dolinar and Anka Balic, and her nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 6-9 pm, at Turner & Porter Funeral home, 2357 Bloor Street West Toronto, Ontario. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 12, 2024, beginning at 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Parish in Toronto. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mississauga. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the North York General Hospital Foundation.
