Karlis served as "Chief Cannoneer" during his own time at the UofT Engineering Skule(TM), and returned more recently to find an eccentric community of Chiefs, extending year after year to today. He brought to us all of his stories, his jokes (and puns), his advice, and his most memorable laugh. I am glad to have been able to call him my friend.
Karlis was an amazing friend and full of the joy of life which he shared with everyone!
Karlis was an amazing man. I will miss his laugh, his sense of humor and his ability to understand the quirky sense of humour I have and my late husband John had
He was a tower of strength when my husband died
To quote Shakespeare “Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing the to thy rest”
Say hi to John and your family for me
Lou-Anne
A great man and a privilege to work with him over the last 4 years as an ITRB member.
RIP Karlis
So long my friend, I have fond memories, we first met in Sudbury, you walking Princess, Alex and I taking our new baby for walks. Three Geotechs living in the Kingsmount area. You have enriched my life with your passion for our profession and life. My deepest sympathies to your children and life partner, and your family. Until we meet again.
