Karen Elizabeth Neilson passed away on November 10, 2018 at the age of 64 after a two year battle with cancer that she fought with strength and determination.

She will be mourned by her beloved children, Julia and Claire, her brother Peter, her sister Suzanne ( Charles Allister ), her nieces Leah and Hilary and her lifelong friend Joan Barton ( Ron Reid ). She was predeceased by her parents Graham and Charlot Neilson. And also by her precious four-legged friend Tessa.

Karen always wanted to have children and she was blessed to have Julia and Claire in her life. She was their rock and with them every step of the way. She was so proud of them. And they were proud of their mom, as we all were, watching her volunteer and contribute to her community in any way that she could.

Karen had always loved to travel and to experience new things. She made sure that the girls had every possible opportunity in their lives and they all had many adventures together, including every summer she and the girls would travel to a different province and territory until they had seen all of Canada. Such special memories they created together.

Karen was most happy when her loved ones, her children, her family and her friends were happy. She would have wanted the memory of her to be a happy one.

We will all miss her dearly. And we will keep those happy memories in our hearts.
