In Celebration of

Brian KOZELL (KOZEL)

June 16, 1961 -  October 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Kozell, who passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2024, in hospice care. Brian was 63 years old and is deeply mourned by his family and friends.

Brian was the beloved son of Rudy and Susan Kozel (both predeceased), and the cherished brother to Ron (Anne) and Donna (John). He was a loving father to his son, Liam, and former husband to Sandra. Brian was a proud uncle to Tracy (Dan), Erin (Travis), Michael (Sarah), and Lisa, and a great uncle to Ben, Charlotte, Barrett, Presley, Parker, and Paige.

Though Brian faced many personal struggles throughout his life, his family will remember him for his kind heart, his loyalty, and his devotion to the people he loved. During the brighter moments in his life, he was known for his caring nature, his generous spirit, and his unwavering commitment to those in his support network.

Brian’s legacy is one of love and resilience, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the support and love that Brian received throughout his life, especially during his final months.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brian's memory to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), an organization that works to support those facing similar struggles.

Rest now, and may you finally find the comfort and peace you were searching for all along. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16th at Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga with a visitation starting at 10am.
Burial will take place following this service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Markham, Ontario; all are welcome to attend.

You will be so missed Brian. Not only by me, but by your son, Liam. I wish he had known the man I married and not the man who was ravaged by his addiction. So many people loved you. I just wish you had known that while you were alive. We will all come together this Saturday to celebrate you. RIP. ❤️

Brian and I met in kindergarten and became fast friends. We kept in touch off and on over the years. I haven’t actually seen him since before COVID.

I have fond memories of Brian that I will keep close.

Rest Easy My Friend till we meet again. 😢❤️
