Barbara Joyce died peacefully in her sleep in her 92nd year at ARCH Hospice, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on July 9, 2021. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest and daughter Rhonda. Loving mother of son Brent and daughter-in-law Dana; and daughter Valerie. Joyce was born, raised and lived in Islington, Ontario where she spent decades in an illustrious teaching career. Her globetrotting adventures numbered dozens and memories of these trips lasted her a lifetime. But her all time favourite was time spent at her beloved cottage on Tea Lake. She revelled in telling stories of being one of the first cottagers on the lake and how they had to get there by boat. It was her paradise.
