In Canada, Jovit continued to support his family as an accountant and eventually was promoted to Comptroller.
In 1988, after he retired, Jovit and Alice moved to Toronto to be closer to their two sons and their families. Soon after coming to Toronto Jovit obtained another accounting position in a downtown hotel where he worked for several years. Jovit also worked as Treasurer and then as President for his Condo Board and did volunteer work completing tax returns for some of the residents and family members. Jovit enjoyed a full social life with Alice and served with the Canorient Christian Association for many years in various roles.
