With heavy hearts and much love we mourn the passing of Josip Vukovic at the age of 84 on December 4, 2024. Josip passed away suddenly with his wife Danica by his side at home in Mississauga.

Josip leaves behind his loving wife (Danica) of 60 years, son John (Victoria), son Ron (Helen), grandchildren Adam, Tatijana, Isabella and Bianca.

Josip was born in the small Croatian village of Orisje (Bosiljevo) on July 24th 1940. He was predeceased by his parents Janko and Kata and siblings, brother Stjepan and sister Marica (Rendulic), survived by sister Ljuba (Kovacic).

Josip made his way to Canada in 1960 when he was 20 years old He landed in Montreal and later arrived in Toronto where he settled for the next few years. Josip married Danica in 1964 and the couple welcomed sons John in 1969 and later Ron in 1972 and settled in Mississauga, where the couple remained.

Trained as a cabinet maker/skilled carpenter, Josip worked tirelessly as a Production Manager at various kitchen cabinet companies and retired in 2005 after 45 years of dedication and passion for his craft.

In retirement (and during his working years) Josip always had a penchant for helping others in their endeavours and projects.

His greatest pride and joy are his family, his boys, nieces, nephews and above all, the time he spent with his grandchildren actively developing and influencing them from birth to adulthood.

Josip will be sorely missed by all who knew him as we have all been blessed for having him in our lives.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel 2180 Hurontario Street. (Hwy 10 N of the QEW) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4 – 9 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held at the Parrish of Croatian Martyrs Church, 4605 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10 AM.

Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga.
