In Celebration of

Josephine Anne Majka

January 27, 1932 -  July 24, 2020

nee Szela

Into our Lord's hands, Josie passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 24, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.

She was the loving wife and will be sorrowfully missed by her adoring husband Edward Sr. of 68 years.

Cherished by her four sons and daughter-in-laws, Edward Jr. (Mary), Kenneth (Debbie), Brian (Lori), Richard (Alison), her grandchildren, Andrew (Kelly), Christopher, (Katie), Teresa (Ryan), Alicia (Brian), David, Amanda (Nick), Rebeccah (Johnny), Matthew, Thomas, Elizabeth, Kathleen and great grandchildren, Jake, Hayley, Mackenzie, Sofia, Owen, Benjamin, Tatum and Tye. This upcoming November Josie would be blessed with yet another great-grandchild.

She was loved by her predeceased sister Jessie, brother-in-law Murray Morgola and niece Karen (Szela), brother-in-law Ed Uba, brother-in-law Nick Prosow and brother-in-law Henry Majka (Luby). She will be fondly remembered by her brother Edward Szela (Joyce), her sister-in-laws Lorraine Uba, Christine Prosow, her brother-in-law Richard Majka (Karen), her many nieces and nephews, especially Denise, Murray, Jeannette, Larry, Ed Jr., John and an entire neighbourhood of friends.

Josie lit up the smiles on anyone's face she met with cheerful joking, loving eyes and warm embraces. A longtime employee of Eatons Sherway Gardens, Josie knew the entire mall and they most certainly knew her. Her table was the most crowded table in the mall at coffee break and lunch time with those waiting to hear a good family story or joke.

She loved her neighbourhood and Church Community and always any time spent with her ever growing family.

She will be forever remembered in the hearts of the many lives she touched.

She made us all happy.

To my dearest Babcia, I am beyond blessed to have had a grandparent like you and I will truly never forget your spunky, sarcastic, hilarious humour. I would have held you longer if I knew that it would be the last time we would meet. Thank you for everything you’ve taught us all. You are my guardian angel and I will always keep you in my heart.

I always looked forward to taking Jessie to see her sister because Aunt Josie always made us feel comfortable, showed an interest in everything everybody was doing, told stories about the "old" days and always sent us off laughing. After Jessie passed, Aunt Josie was my extended mother and we had may great chats and good times. She will forever be in my heart.
