In Celebration of

Joseph Sean Kilpatrick

January 19, 1954 -  April 21, 2019

It is with great sadness that family and friends of Sean announce his passing. Sean passed peacefully at his home in Toronto on April 21. He was 65 years young. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maureen, and also his brother Austin James. Leaving to mourn his sister, Nora, his brother Barry, his niece, Honor, his nephew, Conaire, his wife for many years, Trudi, his best friend, Andrew, and many other relatives and friends who had the good fortune to know him. Sean was a true gentleman who spent his days trying to help others in whatever ways he could. Being a cancer survivor, Sean volunteered with the Princess Margaret Hospital to help others cope with the disease. Sean was a sensitive, educated, well-traveled, modest, and very generous soul. After completing his degree in English Literature, he went on to enjoy a remarkable career in International Banking, returning to Toronto to work for Manulife Financial and then Sun Life Financial from where he retired just two months ago. Sean will be so very greatly missed by so many and will forever live on in our hearts.
Friends and family may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (East of Jane subway station) on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2 p.m., until time of Service of Remembrance in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Sean’s name, please consider The Canadian Cancer Society or the Princess Margaret Hospital. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

Condolences to Sean's family. He will be greatly missed by many. Only knew him for such a short time but grateful to have known him. As many have said he was truly a gentleman. Be at peace.

So deeply saddened to hear of Sean's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Sean for many years at CIBC, both in Toronto and in Barbados. I will always treasure his warmth and gentle wisdom, and the many ways he supported all of us who were lucky enough to have him grace our lives.

I have been so sorry to hear that Sean is gone. He was a good friend to Jim and I. We had many enjoyable family gatherings over the years. He was a good uncle to our son Conaire.
We will miss him.

My sincerest Condolences to Sean's family. I initially met Sean in July of 2015 on a UHN Patient Partner Initiative. He was always kind and thoughtful in the perspectives he presented, genuinely wanting to improve the experience of all patients and selflessly sharing his own experiences and lessons learned.

Those that were lucky enough to cross his path in life were enriched by his steady cadence, tremendous insights and genuine dedication to the greater good.

He will be missed here on earth, for he is now among the angels in heaven!

Rest In Peace Sean
