In Celebration of

Joseph Pearson

January 23, 1951 -  April 9, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Aurelius Pearson, 70, of Mississauga, Ontario. Joe passed away at theTrillium Healthcare Centre on Friday April 9, 2021.

Joe was born on January 23,1951 at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto to proud parents Joseph and Mary Pearson nee Cornier (both deceased). He instantly became little brother to his sister Marguerite (Margo) who survives him.

From the get go, Joe was a force to be reckoned with, loving new adventures, partying with friends and living his life on the wild side. He grew up in Our Lady of Peace Church/School and graduated from Burnhamthorpe High School. Joe was heavily involved in numerous sports and activities for most of his life including being awarded the title of Ontario champion diver for his age group. Later in life he continued to enjoy fishing and especially golf.

Joe first started his career with Canada Post as a technician. Throughout his years of loyal service he achieved his Millwright certification of which he was very proud.

Joe became an uncle when Margo started her family in the early 1970’s with the birth of Michael followed shortly after with the arrival of Caroline. After Caroline married John Huxtable, Joe received the title of Great Uncle to Brooke and Ryan.

Joe met his lifelong partner, Cathy Bank and her daughter, Lissa, in his late thirties, and they were together for over 30 years until the end. When Lissa married Cyril Gillis, Joe became a grandfather to their three children Desarae, Ariel and Isaac.

We give a special thank you to the personal care workers from Care Partners who helped Joe for the last year and to the nursing staff at Trillium who also cared for Joe, especially in his last days.

There will be a small private graveside service for Joe at the Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery on Thursday, April 15. We will all miss your wild and crazy antics and fun loving personality, you will live on forever in our hearts.
