In Celebration of

Joseph Patrick Darmody

June 27, 1959 -  September 12, 2021

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Patrick Darmody at home on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
Much loved brother to Mary, Michael, Patrick (Sue), Anne (Ed), Dianne (Steve), Theresa, Susan (Tim), Catherine (Denis, deceased) and John (Carrie), and uncle (and great uncle!) to 18 nieces and nephews, and 6 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Joseph’s wit, humour, big heart and generous spirit will be sorely missed. Pre-deceased by parents Michael & Helen Darmody.
Born in Toronto, Joe spent many years in the Wiarton community where he formed many meaningful and treasured relationships. He will be sadly missed by the many wonderful people he met there.
Joe was a great believer in the power of prayer, and his poster-sized prayer to St. Jude was living testament to both his humour (“I gotta remember to keep saying that!”) and his courage to stand firm in a constantly changing world.

Arrangements entrusted to Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, Toronto.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, 1701 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Friday, September 17th at 11 AM.
