In Celebration of

Joseph Ofiara

March 28, 1951 -  August 16, 2024

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Joseph after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Cherished brother of Christine, dear uncle to Derrek (Elmira), Michael (Mary), Stefanie (Christopher) and Jennifer (Nick).

He was adored by his great nieces Kate, Emma, Ada and Ellie and great nephews Ethan and Steven. He will be greatly missed by his uncles, cousins and friends.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Michael and Genowefa and siblings Emilia and Eugene.
We know you left this earth Joe but you go to a place where you will finally be in peace and reunited with “sunshine” your mom.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Friends may call Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor Street West) Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

We send heartfelt condolences and friendship to Christine and the rest of the members of the Ofiara family. We are all saddened by the passing of Joe, a life taken too soon who had a big heart. Joe was a dedicated supporter of Copernicus Lodge Family Council's work, always willing to help where possible. His presence and support were appreciated as we all did what we could to help our dear residents of Copernicus Lodge, especially during the pandemic. His life and the memories we all share of Joe will live on within us all.

Joe always had a kind word, generous spirit and fun joke to share with me and the kids. I will remember him fondly always.
My sincerest and deepest sympathies to the family at this extremely difficult time.

Joe, you will be dearly missed by so many. A wild and crazy guy in the old days at the cottage. A very successful instigator! You would walk into a room, say something controversial and then sit back and watch the group discussion or argument ensue! Lots of fun times. Lots of memories. We will miss you dearly.

Krysia/Christine, please accept our deepest sympathies.

With Love
Diane and Marius Czarnowas
