“Our Joe” passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital, in his 94th year. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lyn of 65 years. Loving father of Ian (Cathy), Ann (Mike Morin) and David (Kim). Call me “Joe” grandfather to Ashley, Jonathan, Joseph, Christian and Hannah. Loving “Dad” to Wendy (England), grandfather to Harvey and Jolene. Great Grandad to Liam, Bobby and Jack. Uncle to Andrew Cheetham (England). Born in Salford, England in December, 1928, Joe immigrated to Canada in 1952 and started an exhibition company known as Disney Display. The business grew quickly under the name Intex Trade & Consumer Shows Ltd. It was a life that involved traveling to many countries and Joe loved it. He joined the St. George’s Society in 1966 and was appointed president for the years 1973 & 1974. During 1979, Joe was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to Her Majesty’s Government’s Export and Trade Promotion Services. We will miss the detailed stories as he traveled the world. At Lynn and Joe’s request, no funeral will be held and no memorial services conducted. Cremation has taken place.
