In Celebration of
Joseph Aloysius Noronha
September 16, 1930 - October 13, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Noronha on Friday, October 13, 2023, in Mississauga, ON.
Joe, aged 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Joe will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 64 years of marriage, Eileen, his loving children Anila, Rohan (Patricia), and Aruna (Eric) as well as his cherished grandchildren Sophie, Kiran, Sarita, and Kareena. He will be dearly remembered by his extended family in Canada, USA, India, and across the world.
Joe, born in Mangalore, India, was predeceased by his seven younger siblings in India: Marie, Gladys, Noel, Clary, Sr. Maria Reine (Marcy), Fr. Ronnie Prabhu S.J, and Hector.
At an early age, Joe emigrated to Uganda where he and the family lived for several years before emigrating to Canada and ultimately settling in Hamilton. After calling Hamilton home for many years, Joe and Eileen had recently moved to Mississauga to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Many thanks to Dr. Zheng of Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital (Hurontario/Queensway) for her compassionate care as well as Care Partner nursing and S.R.T caregiver staff for their excellent care for Joe this last year.
Visitation will take place at Turner and Porter - “Neweduk - Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street W., Mississauga on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, from 6 – 9 p.m.
The funeral mass will be held at Cristo Rei Parish, 3495 Confederation Parkway, Mississauga, ON, L5B 3G5, on Friday, October 20th, 2023, at 11 a.m.
Cremation will take place at a later date with Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Hamilton with a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Centres, Hamilton.
