In Celebration of

Jose "Joe" Rocha

January 15, 1949 -  December 11, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jose “Joe” Rocha, after a short but arduous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Teresa, his two daughters Diana (Andy) and Stephanie (Jason), and his grandson Matthew. The shock of his diagnosis, heartbreak of his prognosis, and tragedy of his passing continues to be felt by all who knew and loved him.

Though he had a stoic exterior, those closest to him knew that it was his patience, compassion, kindness, and integrity that made him truly irreplaceable. He was a hardworking man that devoted his entire life to the health and happiness of his family. He was always a peacekeeper and had a special way of bringing people together. His unwavering loyalty, sound guidance, and listening ear made him a devoted father, husband, and friend. He was a well-respected, strong willed and principled man who was steadfast in his ideas and beliefs, while simultaneously maintaining a good sense of humour and wit; making him charismatic and charming.

Joe was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandson. Whether it was watching his favourite soccer team, Benfica, planting his immaculate garden, or watching birds from the porch, he was happiest at home surrounded by his loved ones. Joe loved politics, sports, and animals. He loved working with his hands when creating, designing, and building in his professional life. He was a bit of a perfectionist with a keen eye and an exceptional attention to detail. Joe always kept up with current events, and was always ready to discuss them over a good cup of coffee and a sweet treat.

We are so grateful for the years we got to spend with him and will miss him immensely for the rest of our lives. We will miss Joe’s smile, laugh, stories, and warmth, but most of all we’ll miss the memories we will never get to make with him. We are so thankful that he passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the people he loved most and is no longer suffering. His passing is a devastating loss for our family, and we will certainly honour his life and legacy in the years to come. His passing has taught us to cherish the time we have with one another, love fiercely, and live life to the fullest.

Due to the current pandemic, all Funeral arrangements are Private. Flowers can be sent to the Turner & Porter "Peel Chapel", 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.
