In Celebration of

John Vincent Murray

November 17, 1946 -  February 8, 2021

On February 8th, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, John, aged 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Clarendon, Jamaica to parents Evelyn and John Murray (both deceased). Although a true Jamaican through and through, John moved to Canada in the 70's to pursue his career.

It was here in Canada that he met his beloved wife Sharon, who had recently arrived from Australia. They were together for over 50 years. He is also survived by his two beautiful daughters, Nicole, and her husband Anthony Lee and their children Nyla and Greyson and Krysta, and her fiance Aaron Coleman. John will also be dearly missed by his sister Yvonne Rennicks and his extended family.

John will be remembered for so many things, including his charismatic personality, his love of travel and gardening, his huge laugh; but mostly, for his love and devotion to his family. John was the ultimate family man, every decision and choice he made in life, was centered around the wellbeing of his family.

John will be sorely missed by all who had the honour to know him. Although he might be gone he will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts.

A private service for the family will be held and closed to the public on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at St. George’s on the Hill Anglican Church. The service will be livestreamed and will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Miss you lots already. Wish we had more time so we could have done that family vacation that you were looking so forward to do. Thanks for all the advice and welcoming me into the family. I will always cherish all the fun times that we all shared as a family. Love you lots.

You will always be remembered especially when you visited us in Trinidad and have us laughing most of the time.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Madge and Peter (Cousin)

Entered February 12, 2021 from London, England

We knew John for such a short time, but every moment spent in his company or on the phone was precious. We will miss his wonderful voice and his laughter and will never forget those conversations which were interesting, thoughtful, honest and kind.

Ian and Bonnie Abrahams (cousin)

Entered February 12, 2021 from Stouffville

In this busy often uncaring world, JV has set a shining example of what it means to reach out and keep in touch with family and friends no matter where they may be.

We will greatly miss his regular calls.

Calogero Vincenzo (Friend in Santa Maria, Ocho Rios)

Entered February 12, 2021 from London

The most pleasant and cheerful friend I ever met in Santa Maria!! We swam together, we had a drink together, and I am sure now we can share a chat and a joke in spirit, from here to eternity we are connected! (I believe in it!)

My love and sympathy to Sharon,

Enzo and Hope
