Peacefully, at home with family by his side, on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, in his 86th year. Cherished husband of Helen for 59 years. Loving father of Alanna (Rob), and Carleen (Bill). Proud Opa of Mark, Colin, Doug, Keira, and Kelli. Dear brother of Peter (Linda), Gerry (Liz), Henry (Pat), Mary (Rick), and Annie (Orval). John will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Private Funeral arrangements by family invitation, arrangements entrusted to the Turner & Porter ‘Peel’ Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, 905-279-7663.

Rest in peace Uncle John. My condolences to Aunt Helen, Alanna and Carleen on their loss. I have very fond childhood memories of times spend on 11th Street in New Toronto. Sandra, Alanna and I (pre Billy and Carleen days) would play endlessly at the park next door or at the park pool, while the adults 'visited' (which usually meant drank and played cards lol) Looking back, the adults certainly knew how to party and have a good time.
May your journey home to heaven be a peaceful one, Uncle John. Thanks for the great memories

A special man in my life. As a young boy i remember uncle John as this huge man. He was the man who taught me to fish. Cook bacon to perfection!! Bbq and so much more. Uncle John was always cheerful and kind. When I was given the news of his illness i didnt feel sad. I felt a my heart swell with the many fond memories of the times we spent together. Fist memory that cane to me immediately was when he bought Auntie Hellen a new Monte Carlo. A 1976 beast of a car. He had taken me on a drive to see some land and for lunch he bought me a huge hamburger. After the great meal and still in aw of the car we headed back to new Toronto from our adventure. I dont know if it was the burger of the favt he was driving a 100 mph lol but my stomach turned and got sick all over the the front seats.... we stoped he cleaned it all up and he laughed and smiled that charming smile and said to me....” we better not tell Auntie Hellen about this”

I love you Uncle John and thank you for blessing me with your love I will miss you but i wont be sad. I will cherish your memories as the Irish do. God bless you As you take your seat at the table in Valhalla

John was a true friend to our family for many decades. We all have such fond memories of him and all the parties and the laughter. John was a true gentleman and we will always remember with great affection his kindness and his ready smile. A wonderful man in every way.
