In Celebration of
John Lubomyr Dozorsky
October 30, 1932 -
June 20, 2024
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of John Lubomyr Dozorsky.
Johnny passed away peacefully at Etobicoke General on June 20, 2024 in his 91st year. We are saying goodbye to a wonderful man, who loved life and all the people in it. His genuine affection for everyone has touched many lives and has created very special and valuable friendships.
Johnny was born in Olesko, Ukraine to Myhailo and Antonia (Kapij) Dozorsky. With the help of his sister, Irene, the family emigrated to Ottawa, Canada in 1949. A year later they moved to Toronto. In Toronto he held various jobs until 1967 when he opened up his own business Parkland Meat Products and Deli, and soon after ventured into the hotel business. He lived a full life and thrived when supporting his family, friends, the Ukrainian Community and Church.
Predeceased by his sister, Sophie and brother, Roman, he leaves behind his beloved wife Olga (Chyz) of 65 happily married years, as well as his sister, Irene and many nieces and nephews.
He will be dearly missed by family and friends, but his legacy of love, compassion, generosity and kindness will live on.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers for the repose of Johnny’s soul and, if desired, donations to the Canada Ukraine Foundation. https://www.cufoundation.ca
