October 10, 1971 - August 24, 2025

Passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the age of 53. Beloved husband of Julie; and loving father of Justin and Sarah. Much loved son of Jim and Hazel; and brother of Jim (Steph) and Elizabeth (Jeff Clements). Dear son-in-law of Vic and the late Barbara Shantora; and brother-in-law of Heather. John will be deeply missed by his cherished dog, Abbey.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga on Friday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m.

Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception.

In John’s memory, donations may be made to Ride for Guide Dogs or to Ride for Dad.

John was the first person to greet me when I joined GHRC. Made me feel comfortable and welcome moment I walk in the door. Every time there was an event John was the first one to step up and lead the charge. John was one of the most welcoming persons I have ever met. Will never be forgotten.

John (Yogi) will be greatly missed by all that knew and got the opportunity to ride with him. John was one of the safest and most conscientious riders I ever got to know. I had the opportunity to tail gun for him this year and was able to personally see how well he led a group and kept everyone safe. We will miss you in the Southern Cruisers John, but you will be forever remembered.

Yogi was a great person and a true friend. He was one of the first to welcome me into the group, and by trusting me as his tail, he helped me grow into the role of road captain. I will always be grateful for that. My deepest condolences to his family—I hope they can find strength in this very difficult time.
