In Celebration of

John (Janko) Skripac

March 26, 1927 -  February 7, 2024

John (Janko) Skripac was born on March 26, 1927 in Voca Gornja, Croatia (in the former Yugoslavia). After surviving the horrors of World War 2, John served for three years in the Yugoslavian Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. After marrying the woman of his dreams, Majda, in 1953, the couple decided to escape from Yugoslavia. They immigrated to Canada in 1957 where they were able to start building a beautiful new life.

John served with the TTC as a bus mechanic for 26 years and 7 months before retiring in 1993. His devotion to family meant everything to him and he was a very proud father. John loved to travel, eat well, dance and BBQ for the family whenever he could.

John passed peacefully at the Dom Lipa Nursing Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 96. Loving father of David (Wendy), cherished grandfather of Brenden and Christian, and beloved partner of Ljerka. John joins his beloved wife, Majda Skripac, who predeceased him (September 27, 1997).

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Dom Lipa Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
