John "Jack" Cates

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Westburn Manor, Toronto at the age of 96. He leaves behind his loving wife Shirley, to whom he was devoted for 72 years. Loving father of Nancy and Robin Doherty (Bill). Proud grandfather of Melissa Doherty and Alison Sundberg (Blake) and great-grandfather of Wills and Banks Sundberg.

Jack was born in Windsor and graduated from pharmacy at U of T in 1949. He divided his personal career between Ciba Pharmaceuticals in Montreal and then with Monoject Canada as National Manager in Toronto. Along with his many accomplishments Jack served on the board of directors of numerous pharmaceutical and surgical trade associations.

Jack and Shirley enjoyed travelling the world (75 various countries). He was also a long time member of the Markland Wood Golf Club.

Cremation has taken place.
