John "Jack" Armstrong

May 23, 1928 -  April 30, 2020

Passed away peacefully, at his home in Mississauga the morning of Thursday, April 30, 2020, with his daughter Wendy by his side. Beloved husband of the late Joan Elizabeth Armstrong (Ferguson) 2011. Loving father of his daughter Wendy Lynn and late son John David 2017. Proud grandfather of Brock and Jack.

I am grateful for the support of the PSWS, nurses, and the doctors who took care of him while at home.

A private family service will take place at the Turner & Porter ‘Neweduk-Erin Mills’ Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (east of Erin Mills Pkwy), on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

So sad to say goodbye to a dear friend and former neighbour. We had some great visits on the patio over the years, and a lot of laughs at our movie nights. Jack was my idea of a true gentleman. He was also somewhat of a surrogate 'grandpa' to my son Michael. He will be greatly missed...

Dear Wendy and the Armstrong family,
Our hearts are broken for your loss. Jack was a wonderful neighbour, but more importantly, a very good friend. He loved to socialize and was always in for a dinner or movie night. He had an inspiring zest and passion for life and was always looking forward to his next trip. His favourite handyman Phil and I will always remember his friendly greeting and our many discussions over the backyard fence. We will miss him and loved him dearly.
