In Celebration of

John Adams

September 18, 1925 -  August 1, 2020

John (Jack) Adams passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2020, surrounded by family. He will be deeply missed by his dear wife Jean, his children, Kevin (Adrienne), Cameron (Martha) and Cathy, and his grandchildren, John, Kathleen, Donald and Elizabeth.

John was a World War 2 navy veteran and one of the last surviving members of the original Canadian crew of the cruiser, H.M.C.S. Uganda. A graduate of Queens University, B.Comm, Dad had a long and rewarding finance career with Canadian General Electric. After retirement, he enjoyed many winters in Florida, rounds of golf, and especially spending time at his beloved cottage on Buckhorn Lake. The family will treasure our memories with Dad of wonderful summers at the cottage, full of outdoor adventures. He derived almost as much pleasure from the contemplation and discussions involved in a cottage project as from the realized outcome.

Dad was a natural storyteller specializing in his early days in Cornwall, Ontario and summers on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing the game into his 93rd year. Dad was also an avid reader usually with two or three books on the go, particularly enjoying mysteries and history.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice, in his memory.
