In Celebration of

John Flewwelling

October 27, 1928 -  January 4, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that the family of John Flewwelling announces that he passed away peacefully on January 4, 2020 following a long and valiant battle with Vascular Dementia at the Credit Valley Hospital. He was 91 years old and had enjoyed a long, respected and successful career in the insurance industry. Establishing Flewwelling Insurance Brokers in 1964 and a legacy of providing exceptional and personalized service to his clients over 37 years until his retirement in 2001.

He was the consummate gentleman and a kind and generous soul. The family takes solace that he can once again join the love of his life Norine (nee Mitchell) in eternal peace. He is the beloved father of Elizabeth (Doug), Robert (Elaine) and Paul (Joanne). He was also a cherished grandfather to his 5 grandchildren (Christopher, Michael, Liam, Jade and Andrew).

Sincere appreciation to his caregivers and companions from Home Instead and the incredible staff in the Emergency Department and Unit 1C at the Credit Valley Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Dianne Giacomelli for her support during this challenging journey. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice if desired.

“Only a moment you stayed, but what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts.”

I send my sincere sorrow to the family.
I have known your parents for a long time and loved them dearly
I feel so privileged to have ever met them.
They made me laugh and were so kind to me. I will not forget them
They will be together now as they always were and their caring and giving to many people over the years will live on.
This I know for I am one of them

Sending condolences to the Flewwelling family in the loss of a true gentleman, and a great father and husband.
John's kindness will be remembered by many, especially his family.
Thankfully, his struggles are past, and family can take comfort in knowing he can be with Norine, his loving partner.
