John Cairns

February 13, 1954 -  November 3, 2018

With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of John Cairns on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018. Beloved husband of Sharron, loving father of Kristen Marshall (Alan), Justin, and Samantha and stepfather to Kristen Burton. Adored Grandpa to Riley.

John will be missed sorely by his brother George (Bonnie), sister Margaret (Kevin) and all his nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

He is predeceased by his father and mother John and Marian Cairns.

John was born February 13, 1954, in Edinburgh, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1961. John lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He immersed himself in diverse talents including fine arts, cooking, and household projects. He loved spending quality time with his friends and family. The memory of his kind and gentle nature will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with.

Such a sudden loss, we will miss him dearly.
Probably the most patient man we knew, he always put his beloved family first in his life.
And what a sense of humor he had!
John brought joy, fun, and even a little mischievousness whenever we got together.
Whether he was complimenting you or "cutting you up", we always knew he supported and loved us.
Thank you John for all the good times and now the great memories you have given us.

My Love, my Best Friend and my World.
He was kind, supportive and helpful with everyone he met. He had a sometimes quirky sense of humour but that’s what made him a fun host. He was always willing to try anything as long as he didn’t have to kneel on a hard surface. Thanks Jr Football. He had a very kind, calm, helpful soul.
His favourite pastimes were fine art and hockey. He enjoyed watching and coaching “his girls” with MGHL to develop them into fine, determined and fun players. The “team” was important to him. He was also a very accomplished artist where his true talent exceeded in oils.
He was a kind and patient father. With a mixed family, there was a mix of personalities and he read them all.
He was my lover, best friend, peacekeeper and rock. He was My Love.
Peace my Love.
